Conciliation Outcomes

Approximately 70% of disputes are resolved as a result of conciliation.

Resolution may take one of the following forms:

  1. Agreement.

  2. Recommendation.

  3. Direction.

  4. Medical Panel - Resolution may often be achieved following referral of the medical issues in dispute to a Medical Panel. Click here to visit the Medical Panels Website.(opens in a new window)

  5. Genuine Dispute - If your dispute remains unresolved, the Conciliation Officer will issue you with a certificate of Genuine Dispute that will enable you to take your dispute to the Magistrates’ or County court.

At the end of your dispute, you will receive a certificate from the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC) stating the outcome reached.
